The Sloan-Hendrix
Multimedia and
Digital Communications Class
Web Pages

In the spring semester of 1998 at Sloan-Hendrix High School, a group of students (officially known as Programming II Class) took on an enormous task--To build a Web site for the Sloan-Hendrix School District which would reflect the tradition, honor, and excellence for which Sloan-Hendrix has come to be known over the last hundred years or so; but at the same time, to give the site an essence which also reflects the personalities (no matter how quirky) of the creators and their teacher. This daunting task would have been somewhat easier if the teacher (Mr. Griffin) had a clue (Does "clueless newbie" have any meaning to you?) as to how to go about it. Fortunately, three of the students (Colin Kirk, Ben Williams, and Ryan Kemp) had already delved into the fascinating world of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language for the rest of you newbies). Their expertise, combined with suggestions from SHHS teachers Jack Hailey and Kathy Newton and Principal Mitch Walton, eventually resulted in Mr. Griffin finally getting a partial clue which he attempted to pass on to the even more clueless rest of the class and successive classes.  The greatest asset to the production of this site has been the students themselves. They have done an outstanding job. As with any Internet site, this is a work in progress. In the spring semesters since 1998, we continued to build on what the Programming II class of 1997-1998 started in order to promote our fine school. This course was known as Multimedia Applications.  In the Fall of 2011, Multimedia Applications I-II was renamed to Digital Communications III-IV.  Spend a little time and take a look at these students Home Pages and get to know them. They are well worth the effort.
