On Friday morning, February 12, the Sloan-Hendrix FFA Livestock Show Team headed out for Jackson,
Mississippi, and the Dixie National Livestock Show.  Five members of the team and nine head of cattle made
the trip.  Those members attending were Emily Bilbrey, Kristen Bratcher, Kayla Kerley, Amanda Holland, and
Kara Morris. They were accompanied by Joe Wallis, Livestock Show Team Advisor and members of the
Sloan-Hendrix FFA Alumni Association:  Lisa and Michael Holland, Robert Stallings, and Warren Williams.

On Saturday, members showed Brangus and Hereford cattle.  Before the Hereford show, members got the
opportunity to meet Randy Owen, lead singer for the country group Alabama.  Mr. Owen visited with the
students and was nice enough to pose for a picture with them.  Sunday morning members were at the barn
by 6:30 a.m. to prepare for the Angus show.  Despite the cold snowy weather, a good time was enjoyed by all.
