The Sloan-Hendrix Music Department presented their spring concert on Thursday, April 12 in the Sloan-Hendrix Cafetorium. Both the band and individual singers performed to an enthusiastic audience. This was a big performance for several new band members in the music program. Autumn Wilson's ability to play in the county softball tournament and still make it to the concert where she delivered an outstanding performance was greatly appreciated by the audience and her fellow performers. Graduating senior Lynsey Lawrence's final performance for the music department was tremendous and excitedly received by the audience. Emily Copeland closed the concert with a truly musical and amazing presentation of Patsy Cline's "She's Got You." The music department is under the direction of Mr. David Johnson. The program of performances included "Star Spangled Banner"—Marva Williams; "Waterfalls"—Ashley/Dawn; "Killing Me Softly"—Ashley Thompson; "Crusaders"—Band; "Walking After Midnight"—Dawn Miller; "Aura Lee"—Band; "Give Me One Reason"—Lynsey/Autumn; "Aztec Sunrise"—Band; "Leave the Pieces"—Lynsey Lawrence; "She’s Got You"—Emily Copeland.
