On August 8 and 9, 2011, nationally known speaker Mark McLeod of Purvis, Mississippi presented a workshop to the entire Sloan-Hendrix faculty entitled "The Keys to Raising Student Achievement." Teachers were instructed in classroom management procedures, effective instruction techniques, and in ways to best motivate students to succeed. Mr. McLeod's goals for the two day seminar were to help teachers relight their fire, fill their tool box for success, network with other teachers about what works, and to remind the teachers to have some fun along the way. Judging by the reactions and comments from the audience Mr. McLeod was very successful in his goals. It looks like a great year shaping up for the students and teachers at Sloan-Hendrix.
