On Thursday, January 26, 2012, Sloan-Hendrix
Future Business Leaders of America attended the District II Spring
Leadership Conference at Nettleton High School. This conference
gives members the opportunity to participate in various
Members qualifying for state were Alan Swink - 1st - Cyber Security;
Eric Hill - 1st - Intro to Business Communication; Heather
Bradley/Paige Ratliff - 2nd - Desktop Publishing; Rebekah Swink -
3rd - Personal Finance; Jesse Hufstedler - 3rd - Business Math;
Brooke Pinkus - 4th - Computer Applications; Savannah Williams - 4th
Computer Problem Solving; and Heidi Branscum - 5th - Technology
Members who placed in the top ten were Andrew Young - Business
Calculations; Sheyenna Robins - Business Law; Samantha Honeycutt -
Economics; Nicole Comadoll - Health Care Administration; Morgan
Smith - Hospitality Management; Christian Capps - Intro to
Technology Concepts; Austin DeShazo - Networking Concepts; and Casey
Holder - Public Speaking II.
Others attending the conference were
Samantha Adams, Alissah Harris, Alexis Kulick, Megan Welch, Samantha
Wilson, and Caleb Hufstedler.
At the conclusion of the competitions, members gathered in
the performing arts center for the first general session and the
election of district officers. Adam Taylor and Kara DeShazo served
as voting delegates for the Sloan-Hendrix chapter.
The Arkansas Leadership Conference will be held in Little Rock on
April 2, 2012.
