On Tuesday, September 25, Sloan-Hendrix hosted the third annual Old Davidsonville Invitational Cross Country Meet at Old Davidsonville State Park.  Schools participating included Greene County Tech, Heber Springs, Valley View, Batesville, Melbourne, Greers Ferry, Jonesboro, Crowley’s Ridge Academy, Izard County Consolidated, Sloan-Hendrix, Nettleton, Bald Knob, Southside Batesville, Walnut Ridge, Piggott, Maynard, Paragould, Mammoth Spring, Wynne, and Manila. 

Jessie Powell placed seventh individually in the junior girls out of a field of 73.  In team rankings, Sloan-Hendrix placed third in the junior boys division, sixth in the junior girls division, and tenth in the senior boys.  Other Sloan-Hendrix students who participated include Mercedes Williams, Brenda McCain, Bethany DeShazo, Skylia Lester, Blaze Hurt, Kandyce Clay, Kyra Williams, Layla Lawrence, Eunita Ames, Meghan Griffin, Kara DeShazo, Brittany Childress, Nathan DeShazo, Zach Taylor, Payton Oliver, Jonathon Davis, Tyler Murphy, Logan McCain, Dylan Decker, Aaron Slusser, Tyler Lepard, Christian Capps, Zack Anderson, Josh Winkley, and Paul Hein.

Volunteers who helped make the meet a success included Jennifer Grisham, Scott Nichols, James Presley, Jason Lee, Melton Sloan, Nicole Comadoll, Demi Stephens, Austin Clark, Tyler Booth, Heather Brand, Blake Bennett, Randy Gholson, Georgia Ratliff, Chase DeJournett, Joyce Cox, Clifford Rorex, Janna Powell, and Tonya Bennett.  They did a great job to make sure the meet went well, it couldn't have been done without them! Also, thanks to Krystal Watson and the rest of the staff at Davidsonville State Park for all their help!
