On Tuesday, May 10, 2016, approximately 140 students from Sloan-Hendrix 8-12 grades traveled to Jonesboro to do a little book shopping at Barnes and Noble in the Turtle Creek Mall.  Those who attended had read at least 13 books this year in the high school reading program.  Those who read 13 books got to purchase $20 worth of reading materials to keep for themselves.  The more books they read this year the more they could purchase.  A 20% discount was given to the Sloan-Hendrix reading enthusiasts by Barnes and Nobles.  Students also ate at local restaurants before returning to campus.  Grades 4-7 had 175 participants in the shopping spree the previous day.  Photographs by Blayzey Rose.
