On Monday, April 3, four members of the Sloan-Hendrix FBLA attended the 75th annual Arkansas FBLA State Leadership Conference in Little Rock.  These members competed on the district level and qualified for state competition.  Those competing included Jessica Swayne, Introduction to Business; Buzz Gholson, Introduction to Financial Math; Riley Hubbard, Business Calculations; and Colton Dail and Kierce Due, Sports and Entertainment Management Team.
During the conference, members attended workshops and visited the campaign area to hear the views of prospective officers.  After the first workshop, Sloan-Hendrix members visited the Old State House Museum.  The Old State House was the first capital building in Little Rock, with the first session meeting in the new building in 1836.  When the present capital building was completed in 1915, the old capital became home to the University of Arkansas Medical Department.  The Old State House was also home to the Arkansas Department of the American Legion, as well as the Girl Scouts and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  In 1969, it was put on the National Register of Historic Places and the transition to museum and archive began.
In the afternoon, Kierce and Colton checked in for the presentation part of their event.  They were given a case study concerning a sports team and had twenty minutes to prepare.  When the preparation time was over, they presented their case before judges who questioned their ideas and suggestions.
Members enjoyed a meal at Coltonís Steakhouse in Cabot on their way home.
