Senior Conference Track Meet
The Sloan-Hendrix Senior Baseball Team clinched the conference championship and number one seed in the District Tournament with great play throughout the 18-7 season.  Go Hounds!

Senior Baseball and Softball athletes were honored at the last home games on Monday, April 24.  This year's senior athletes included Tyler Murphy, Colton Dail, Colby Johnson, Devin Meeks, Ashley Chavez, Karmyn Gray, and Britany Caton.

Claire Causbie, a junior at Sloan-Hendrix has been accepted to the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives Washington, D.C.Youth Tour 2017. She is one of two students who will be representing the Clay County Cooperative. Claire will be in Washington the week of June 9-16, 2017, and will be joining approximately 1,600 students nationwide. Highlights will include tours of the U.S. Capitol, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian museums, and many memorials. Requirements for this trip: students must be high school juniors and their parents/guardians must be members of the electric cooperative (Clay, Craighead, etc.). Winners were selected from an essay/interview contest. Claire is the daughter of Roy and Glenda Causbie

The Sloan-Hendrix FFA Farm Business Management Team, competed in state competition in Fayetteville on Thursday, April 13.  Team members are Hunter Stallings, Briar Miller, Alexis Easley, and Amber Johnson.  The team was accompanied by Mrs. Easley and FFA Advisor, Mr. Isaac Blankenship.
Students in Mrs. Gilbreath's math class learned about coordinate planes yesterday. (This activity came from the new Heinemann supplemental math resource).
In yesterday's triple header against Hillcrest and Ridgefield Christian, the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds baseball team clinched the conference championship. The Hounds won all three games with a grand slam from Devin Meeks and a home run by Brantley Gholson and Colby Johnson in the last game. Go Hounds!

These students represented Sloan-Hendrix in the Lawrence County Junior Auxiliary's Young Women's Conference held at the Walnut Ridge Community Center. Students heard guest speakers Dr. Cassie Glenn Hunter and KAIT's Allison Munn discuss girls' health, self-esteem, and social media.
