On Wednesday, October 12, sixteen members of the Sloan-Hendrix FBLA attended the District II Fall Conference in Jonesboro.  The theme for the year is A Legacy of Leadership.  The meeting was held in the Convocation Center on the campus of Arkansas State University.  More than 2,000 students from Northeast Arkansas attended the meeting.
After the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, the keynote speaker, Grant McCasland, was introduced.  Coach McCasland is the head basketball coach of the ASU Red Wolves.  In his presentation, he reminded members that we are all leaders whether we realize it or not.  All of us have been created for a purpose and each of us should live the story we were created to live.  He outlined three main points for being an effective leader:

donít talk about people, because that breaks down trust,
work hard, and
be someone that people can count on by serving others.

At the conclusion of his speech, chapter officers were installed and there was a roll call.  Perry Hutton represented Sloan-Hendrix during the roll call.  At the adjournment of the meeting, members had lunch and spent some time shopping and visiting.
