Career Day at Sloan-Hendrix was held on Friday, October 5.  Career Day is one way that SHHS encourages students to explore their interests and passions while introducing students to many professions by bringing community members into the school to discuss their jobs.  Students in 12th - 8th grades had the opportunity to visit with local professionals to help make a connection between academics and the workplace.  Those exhibitors were ASU- Beebe, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game & Fish, Arkansas Forestry Commission, Black River Technical College, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, UAMS-AHEC, First National Bank, National Guard, Greenway Equipment, Lawrence County Cooperative, Extension Service International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, International Union of Painters & Allied Trades, Craighead Electric Cooperative, ProMed Ambulance, Murphy Dental Care, Work Force Ed, Survival Flight, and Randolph County Veterinary Clinic.  The event was organized by SHHS CTE teacher Kelly McCormic and Vice-Principal Melanie Spence.
